holiday plaid

Last week, I took a quick trip to NYC after completing my finals to see some old friends as well as get some Christmas shopping done!! I saved this killer Rag & Bone plaid set to wear on my last day in the city– I thought it was the perfect outfit to embrace the holiday season! I bought these Gianvito Rossi boots at Barney’s while I was in NYC and I’m obsessed!!! I can’t wait to wear them in London! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all a blessed New Year!!

P.S. The Rag & Bone set is now ON SALE!!

missing autumn weather

In the blink of an eye, the Fall season really passed us by! Unfortunately, the weather in South Bend doesn’t make dressing well easy. With summer lasting so long this year, it feels like it was only Fall for a week! Above is one of my favorite looks from this past season, featuring my go-to Levi’s and my current boot obsession: these Prada lace-ups! I felt very Dior Resort ’18 in this Western style jacket, the fringe added a little something special to the look. Although Fall is my favorite season for fashion, I’m excited to share with you some of my winter looks soon!

cfda / vogue fashion fund red carpet favorites!

This Monday marked the 14th annual CFDA & Vogue Fashion Fund dinner with A-list guests ranging from Karlie Kloss to Nicki Minaj. The event was held at The Weylin in Brooklyn and marked one of the most diverse years to date. Designer Telfar Clemens won the $400,000 prize to continue his unisex line he started back in 2005.

At events like this, most people are actively involved in fashion, so their looks are usually out of this world. Check out some of my favorites below!

Lais Ribiero in Cushnie et Ochs

I love a suit for a red carpet! It’s an easy way to be sexy and sophisticated while still remaining effortless and minimal. The deep v blazer and flare trouser make this look special.

Martha Hunt in Cushnie et Ochs

I’m obsessed with the shoulders on this piece, and I love the idea of wearing white all year around! The buttons add a nice detail and the simple shoe was a smart styling move.

Sara Sampio in J. Mendel

J. Mendel is one of my favorite red carpet designers and this youthful look is no exception! This pale pink tone is perfect on Sara, and the combination of feathers and sparkles is flawless–not too much and not too little!

Soo Joo Park in Tome

This color made the dress! The pleats make it super feminine as well. Soo Joo’s red lip pulled the entire look together.

A runner up was defintely Nicki Minaj, who killed it in an Alexander Wang getup. If I had to choose one outfit to wear myself, I’d have to go with Sara’s J. Mendel piece– I’m all for the feathers this season!! I can’t wait for the next red carpet event for even more looks to obsess over!! 🙂

Chicago Fashion Week 2017

This past Sunday, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the finale of Chicago Fashion Week and see several collections from up & coming designers, as well as an avant garde competition. Tony Long from FashionBar Chicago generously allowed myself and several other members from the Fashion Club of Notre Dame to attend the event as a learning experience. Breaking into the industry is challenging, but people like Tony make it easier to get your foot in the door.

My favorite designer I saw was definitely Chicago Playground, designed by Rodnell Jones II. His collection was filled with Letterman jackets, bright colors, and fun texture. My favorite jacket had the Chicago Cubs symbol on it! I loved all the references to Chicago in his work; it made each piece come alive.

Throughout the event, Tony spoke to the crowd about making Chicago a fashion city and a bridge between LA and NY. I think this is a great idea and could add a new industry to the city of Chicago to create even more commerce and jobs. I also wouldn’t mind being closer to a fashion city while I’m here at ND 🙂

Thank you so much to Tony Long and the entire FashionBar team! You guys are incredible and this experience was amazing!

redhead runway turns 21

for my 21st birthday dress, i was specifically looking for a piece that would make a statement. i decided to go with this gold saint laurent cocktail dress with a strong shoulder. i borrowed my mom’s bottega veneta knot clutch which was very special for me after my internship there this summer! i wore long fringe earrings from saint laurent as well and chose a pair of black and gold louis vuitton heels (actually pretty comfortable!)

fun fact: i ripped my dress putting it on (i hadn’t tried it on after i got it tailored) and it’s attached with a safety pin at the bottom of the neckline! only had a minor freak out 🙂

thank you finnie’s next door and all my friends and family for the most wonderful 21st birthday!

top 5 outfits of summer 2017

after a long and exciting summer interning at bottega veneta in new york city, i thought i’d share my top 5 favorite outfits as summer comes to a close this week! check out my picks below!

i wore this adorable Revolve set for a day out at brunch at Poco and then drinks on the rooftop at Le Bain! these Chloé sandals are the perfect solution to giving yourself a little height without having to wear painful heels. they have a wedge just a few inches high to help give you a boost!

i chose this lemon jumpsuit from For Love & Lemons for a sunday evening barbecue with my family on the jersey shore. to keep it casual, i paired it with a pair of Chanel espadrilles.

i saw this Anna Sui set at the Opening Ceremony store in soho and HAD to have it! my shoes from Revolve were surprisingly comfortable and didn’t give me too much trouble through a day brunching at Nomo Soho and drinks at STK (i’m really bad at heels!) i also can’t wait to use this Proenza Schouler bag for a game this year!

to my surprise, this was actually one of my most popular outfits this summer! this top from Alexis is perfection and i know i’ll get a lot of use out of it! my skirt from J Brand has been a staple in my summer wardrobe for the second year in a row. i loved pairing my light pink Chanel boy bag with the navy gingham. my star Gucci sneakers add a fun twist to the outfit! this was the perfect outfit for a day at the MOMA!

just another brunch outfit!! i picked up this Cinq á Sept top at the beginning of the summer and have been obsessed with it ever since! the little scarf comes attached to the collar. the Rag & Bone leather skirt has probably been featured on Redhead Runway far too many times now. i love using this light blue Céline bag because it’s different than the usual style i normally gravitate towards. finally, these Balenciaga slides worked their way into my outfits many times this summer, whether it was for walking around the city or even going to work.

it’s always hard to say goodbye to summer, but i am definitely more than ready for fall fashion! can’t wait to share my new fall looks with you all soon!!
